CHAPTER 4: The Three Years of No Cancer

          Well after the No More Chemo Party, we thought it was all over. She wasn't growing. She was a 12-year-old inside a 10-year- old's body. So she started taking a shot called Humatrope. This wasn't working very much so we stopped making her take them. We thought she had conquered cancer. She had three years of doing what other teenagers do. She was a self-dependent girl anyway. So she just kept going. She didn't care about not having any hair. She used to say "If people don't like me for who I am, that's their problem." She used to go to a lot of different camps. She loved all kinds of camps. Every summer she would go to 3 or 4 at least. She loved it. She got to do all of these things. Then something happened on a tragic day.
