TREE DEDICATION CEREMONY

1987 - 2001

Her absence hurts so much because
her presence brought so much joy.

On Tuesday, May 28, 2002, Waxahachie Junior High School held a special ceremony to dedicate a newly-planted tree and a memorial marble bench in Ashley's memory, on the front lawn of the Junior High campus. Special speakers for the ceremony included:

  • Junior High Principal Debbie Timmerman
  • Ashley's Reading Teacher, Washington Warriors Sponsor, and Special Friend Janet Roux
  • Two of Ashley's friends from church (Whitney Powers and Chase Patman)
  • Ashley's Choir Teacher Gail Walker
  • Junior High PTO President Debra Wakeland
  • Ashley's Father Paul O'Rear
