DISNEY WORLD TRIP

SATURDAY

We started off Saturday at Epcot Center, and spent about half the day there. We did the Spaceship Earth ride (inside the trademark "golf ball"). The Living Seas was pretty neat, with its marine/aquarium exhibit. The "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience" 3-D movie was incredible!

Probably the best part of Epcot is the World Showcase, with exhibit pavilions representing different countries. Unfortunately, children aren't particularly enamored with this part of the park, because it isn't fast and furious and ride-oriented like Magic Kindgom. We visited the Norway pavilion, because I have Norwegian ancestry, and then left Epcot for Disney/MGM Studios.

Disney/MGM Studios is fascinating. Just the scenery itself is worth the visit. When you first enter the park, you are on Hollywood Boulevard. A little ways down, Sunset Boulevard intersects on the right. There are old-timey-looking buildings and cars all up and down these two streets. It is really quite a sight.

Some of the best things we experienced at Disney/MGM were:

  • Tower of Terror: An incredible free-fall ride, with great "Twighlight Zone" special effects throughout the ride.

  • Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular: A very entertaining show.

  • Beauty and the Beast: A live show with music from the Disney movie, exquisite costumes, and animated characters from the movie as well.
